My volunteering journey started on May 1, 2026. This day is significant in the Czech Republic as it marks Labour Day. For me, the start of my volunteering represented a new chance for teamwork, meaningful work, and shared effort with the hosting organization.

From the beginning, I realized that volunteering is not just about helping others. It also involves meeting new people, connecting with local communities, and engaging with issues that affect daily life. I am proud to take part in activities that promote responsibility, sustainability, and active public involvement.

One of the first events I helped with was the Fairtrade Picnic in Karviná. This was the first time the city hosted the event, making it especially significant. Together, we created a space for those interested in fair trade, ethical consumption, local community, and living responsibly.

I am thrilled that we successfully organized the Fairtrade Picnic. It provided a chance to show that interest in fair trade, sustainability, and global responsibility exists even in cities where such events are just starting. Personally, it was a valuable experience. I witnessed how an idea can transform into a real event that unites people.

Alongside community events, I am involved in the Life Model Forest project, which I find to be a fascinating and important ecological initiative. The project emphasizes a respectful relationship with nature, the landscape, and forest ecosystems. These issues are especially relevant today, as environmental protection affects us all.

Participating in the Life Model Forest project helps me understand the importance of caring for nature over the long term, as well as the need for collaboration between experts, organizations, and local communities. It’s inspiring to be part of efforts that seek not just short-term fixes but also consider the future of the landscape, forests, and life in the area.

For me, volunteering is a chance to learn, help, and contribute in meaningful ways. Every event, meeting, and new project reminds me that even small actions can bring about real change. I appreciate the opportunity to work with the hosting organization, and I look forward to the upcoming activities.

The start of my volunteering on Labour Day will always hold a special place for me. It serves as a reminder that working for the community, nature, and our shared future truly matters.
