Primarily grades 1–5 (adaptable for older pupils)
Planned delivery
Minimum 10 sessions/activities
About the program
The main goal is to create an interactive environmental program in a natural garden in Karviná that serves as a “living classroom” for primary school pupils. The program is designed to help children perceive nature through all five senses—sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste—and to build a relationship with nature through playful, experience-based learning.
Sight Observation Station
Activities focused on looking closely: noticing shapes, colors, movement, patterns, and small details in the natural environment.
Hearing Sound Trail
Listening-based experiences: identifying natural sounds, comparing quiet vs. loud environments, and practicing attentive listening outdoors.
Smell Herb Spiral
Exploring scents in nature through herbs and plants; recognizing differences, intensity, and seasonal changes in aromas.
Touch Tactile Path
Hands-on sensory learning: textures and materials in nature (e.g., leaves, bark, stones) and safe barefoot/hand exploration where appropriate.
Taste Edible Plants Garden
Learning about edible plants and basic food-growing principles with age-appropriate tasting activities, emphasizing safe and responsible practice.
Outcomes Skills beyond nature knowledge
Pupils also strengthen teamwork, creativity, and responsibility toward the environment through shared tasks and reflective activities.
